Early On provides support to Michigan families with children ages birth to three who have developmental delays or disabilities or are at risk for delay due to a medical condition. The School Success Partnership Program offered by Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency gives academic support to pre-kindergarten through 12th grade students who face challenges that put them at risk of academic failure. Students receive personalized support to meet their unique needs including family issues, attendance problems, or struggling with academic skills. The program works to increase school attendance, improve academic performance, enhance parental involvement, and remove barriers that stand in the way of success. This program is currently available in select Traverse City Area Public Schools and Bellaire Public Schools.

The Grand Traverse Dyslexia Association provides support and tutoring services for students and families in the dyslexia community.

The SOS Learning Lab provides consultation, coaching and support to facilitate learning for individuals of all ages. They also support students with a range of learning challenges and their families and help individuals achive their high school diploma.

Sylvan Learning provides online tutoring services and test prep for K-12 education along with free learning resources. Here you will find support from a local or online tutor in all courses k-12, homeschool support, advanced placement support, and test prep.

TCAPS has compiled a list of employees who have indicated their interest in tutoring. You will find subject, grade level, and scheduling here. Students will be able to match with the best fit for their grade level and learning needs with an approved tutor through Traverse City Area Schools.

Our organization offers scholarships for brass/woodwind, keyboard, strings, and voice. Students in grades 7th-11th in either public, private, or home school in the 5-county area are eligible to audition for the scholarships. Vocal students must be 13 years old on or before March 1, 2026 and will be required to sing one classical selection and a second one classical or musical theater, (no belting). Students in 12th grade may audition for the Collegiate Awards for college study. The scholarships may be used to further musical progress: lessons, camp, or instrument purchase. The number and amount of the awards given depends on funds raised by members of Grand Traverse Musicale, in addition to contributions from generous donors.

The Kelsey’s Law Distracted driving scholarship is available for 11th and 12th grade students to apply that are committed to safe and distraction free driving. Applicants must be a Michigan resident and have a valid Michigan driver’s license. All scholarship winners will be announced in April 2026.
