Healthy Futures is a program that connects pregnant women and parents with information and local resources, free home visits from registered nurses, and support for your new baby. Healthy Futures wants to help you give your child a healthy future – and they do that by connecting you to trustworthy information and local resources. Healthy Futures is a collaboration of Munson Healthcare, health departments in northern Michigan, and health care providers across the region.

The Maternal Infant Health Program (MIHP) is a home visiting program for pregnant women, infants and their families who are one Medicaid or are Medicaid eligible. Families get support from a nurse, social worker and other professionals who work to meet their family’s specific needs. MIHP helps women have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.

Generations Ahead supports pregnant and parenting teens and young adults (up to the age of 22), both men and women. They help young parents overcome the obstacles of teen pregnancy by helping them complete their high school education, fostering independence, and building trusting relationships so they may lead fulfilling lives with a stable family environment. They provide a variety of services, supports and access to resources. Services are free to all families.

Child & Family Services offers free pregnancy counseling and support to expectant parents. They help you explore all of your options, assist you in making a plan, connect you to resources, and stand by your side throughout the entire process to ensure you’re safe, well, and comfortable—no matter what you decide. They will also connect you to adoptive parents, if it is right for you.

Baby Center is a smart phone app that offers support in tracking your pregnancy and your child’s development through early elementary ages.

A Doula (also known as a birth companion, birth coach or post-birth supporter) is a trained and experienced non-medical person who assists a woman before, during, or after childbirth to provide continuous informational, emotional. and physical support. Traverse City Lactation Company (TCLC) provides doula support to pregnant and new moms in the Traverse City area.
